Heaps of trash pollute water and breed disease and pests.
The solid waste incinerator turns waste into ash, produces steam for electricity and sterile water.
The solid waste incinerator turns all solid waste (except metals and glass) into ash. These
include non-biodegradable waste such as plastic and sanitary pads. The incinerator reaches temperatures of
850 degrees Celsius. The energy generated from burning is used to heat water into super-heated steam which can
be used to generate electricity by turning a turbine or sterilize medical equipment. It can also provide boil
water for drinking, cooking and cleaning.
